According to reports, Bankole Felemu and two civil servants, Oluseguun Kayode and O. J. Afolabi, were detained in the Lagos Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) detention facility on suspicion of N2.4 million seminar fraud.

According to reports, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had earlier invited His Excellency the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun and some civil servants questioned the millions of Naira fraud cases.

It is said that a suspected fraud under investigation by the anti-corruption agency was committed in 2019, when parliamentarians should have participated in a two-day seminar organized by the National Productivity Center in Lagos.

A source at the conference said that legislators demanded the release of funds so that the four higher education committee members can participate in the seminars scheduled for Wednesday, December 11 and Thursday, December 12, 2019.

Participants in the “seminar” included the clerk, the deputy speaker, the chairman of the Higher Education Committee of the House of Assembly and two members of the committee.

In accordance with the documents required to provide funding, the “Seminar” aims to increase the institutional productivity, awareness, and excellent service levels of workers and organizations in the public and private sectors, and provide workers and organizations with a platform to achieve high productivity and reward them.
