Insecurity: Chad President On Official One Day Visit To Nigeria

Lake Chad President, President Marechal Idriss Deby Itno, on Saturday paid a one day offical visit to Nigeria and the President Muhammadu Buhari led Government in Abuja to discuss issue relating to insecurity between the duo country at the borders.

According to a statement released by the Nigeria Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama through his confirmed Twitter account on Saturday evening, said Nigeria received the Lake Chad’s President Deby Itno on a one day official visit to the country.

“Received President @MIdrissDebyItno of the Republic of Chad, at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. The President is on a one-day official visit to Nigeria. @ChadianMFA “

President of Lake Chad’s, Marechal Deby Itno earlier announced his one day official visit to Nigeria on his Twitter handle on Saturday, saying, “This Saturday I made a working and friendship visit to Abuja.”

He thank President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigeria Government for a quality reception giving to him.

friendship visit to Abuja. Thanks to the
President @MBuhari and to the Nigerian Government for the quality of the reception.”

His Excellency, President Marechal Deby also stated in another tweet that his visit to Abuja, Nigeria will allowed the two country to address issues relating to the reopening of borders, electricity interconnection and the strengthening of the counterterrorism strategy in the Lake Chad basin, he said.
