*AN OPEN LETTER TO THE CHAIRMAN, ONDO STATE OIL PRODUCING AREAS DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (OSOPADEC), OTUNBA SAM EREJUWA*
We are the Concerned Indigenes of Ese-Odo Local Government Area who are bonafide part of the oil producing mandate areas under Ondo State Oil producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC).

We passionately write with keen interest, to draw the attention of the Chairman of OSOPADEC, Otunba Sam Erejuwa, to the observed imbalanced trends of activities in the Commission since you have been appointed by our dear Governor, Arakunrin Odunayo Akeredolu, as the Chairman of Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission.

Without any iota of bias, it is obvious that our people have been grossly marginalized under your administration due to superior recognition of Ilaje Local Government Area over ours in terms of social responsibilities of the commission to the entire Oil Producing Mandate Area.

We have observed that your administration and project outlines for the oil producing area mainly target the Ilaje Local Government Area, depriving the Ese-Odo Local Government Area from the inclusive social responsibilities of the Commission which both are entitled to.

We want to draw your attention particularly to the recent intervention of the commission towards curbing the menace of insecurity in the oil producing areas. On Monday 11th April, 2022, you presented a new Toyota Sienna Space Bus to the Igbokoda Division of the Nigerian Police Force Force to facilitate efficient operation due to the increased rate of criminal activities in the oil producing area and to restore peace.

We are not against these welcomed developments, but we wonder if eradication of criminals and restoration of peace are only limited to one area while leaving Ese-Odo Local Governmnet Area at the mercy of such criminal menace and disruption of peace.

Other observations of imbalance include recognizing the people of one Local Government Area in your inclusive administration and benefits, obviously excluding and reducing our people to be only onlookers of your administration.

Need we remind you sir that OSOPADEC covers both Local Government Areas on fair entitlements and should be treated as such without neglecting the other.

We hereby call for equal need of peace and eradication of criminals in Ese-Odo Local Government Area as done for our sister Local Government, Ilaje, by also providing security vehicles and other necessary measures to tackle the same insecurity.

Mr. Chairman, we equally ask that you recognize the good people of our Local Government, our traditional fathers, the  student union body -FELGOS and their yearnings in your inclusive administration.

We would be pleased to observe that our people are competently included in your key appointments and dealings.

Thank you Mr. Chairman, as we look forward to your favourable considerations of our grievances of inferior treatment and none inclusiveness to reflect justice.

Yours faithfully,
E-Signed by
