The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, lifted Omoyele Sowore restriction to Abuja.
Omoyele Sowore has been restricted to Abuja since 2019 by President Muhammadu Buhari’s government and the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, Abubakar Malami, for protesting against poor governance in the country.
Sowore is now permitted to move within Nigeria but may not allowed to leave Nigeria.
He was kidnapped in Lagos by the Department of State Service (DSS), and transferred to Abuja on August 3rd, 2019 following his calling for a nationwide protest tagged #RevolutionNow.
The court of appeal in Abuja has now lifted the restriction, saying his restriction to Abuja is excessive.
